Los Cabos Travel Information !

Los Cabos
A Travel to and from Los Cabos uses the Los Cabos International Airport.
Departure taxes are generally $16.00, USD
Rental Cars: The best way to explore the Los Cabos area is to rent a car at the airport. Most hotels arrange car rentals, too. Avis, Hertz, National, Thrifty and Dollar all have representatives in the area, and the most popular car of choice is a convertible Volkswagen, invariably in white or in red, made in Mexico, and surprisingly tough on dirt-rutted, unpaved roads. It is best to choose the unlimited mileage options as distances can be considerable. Special offers and bargaining make it possible to find a good deal. You don't really need a car unless you want to go into the wilderness or drive outside the two Cabo towns. You may even have more fun without a car; buses are quite frequent and any excursion in an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) takes you to snorkeling heaven.

The currency in Los Cabos is the Mexican Peso.

Required Proof of Citizenship: Valid U.S. passport, or state issued birth certificate with raised seal and photo ID backup.

Traveling with minors: Minors traveling with only one parent or adults other than their parents must have a notarized letter from the absent parent(s) authorizing them to be taken out of the country. If the parent is deceased, a copy of the death certificate will be required for check in at the airport.

Tips: In restaurants, 15-20%, and $2-3 tip per night to housemaids. Porters normally receive $1 per bag.
